The Society of Gilders spent a week in January 2009, re-gilding the Church of St Alphonsus, which had been damaged when the roof blew off during Katrina. We donated all the materials and labor, and everyone paid for their own travel and lodging. We gilded whatever we could reach without scaffolding, and whatever could be sanded without professional lead abatement. Ed and I arrived in the middle, after all the hard work had been done! The SOG plans to return again next year; anyone is welcome to join us. Here are some pictures."

A colored pencil drawing of mine was published in the book Lilly Oncology on Canvas, p138. The competition was held in 2006, open to anyone who was involved with cancer in some way, whether as a patient, care-taker, or health care provider. All media were accepted. I just found out that mine was one of a small percentage included in the published volume. It is titled "All that matters". "
I completed this gilding commission on June 20, 2008, in Jamestown, RI. The engraved letters were gilt with 23k gold.
